About Lucas: Is the son of Bill and Lisa...has one brother, Jacob.

High School Highlights: Was a four-year letterwinner in baseball for the Comets, earning all-conference and all-district accolades as both a junior and senior, while also earning all-state recognition as a senior. In addition, he was a three-time letterwinner in football, earning a spot on the all-district team as both a junior and senior. He also lettered three times in basketball and was voted all-conference as a senior. Was a one-year letterwinner in both golf and track. Aside from athletics, he was a four-year academic letterwinner and a member of the National Honor Society.

College Highlights:
2015: For the second straight year, he led the BVU pitching staff in appearances with 17, while going 3-0 and posting a team-leading 1.96 ERA.  He worked a total of 23 innings and allowed just seven runs (five earned) on 17 hits.  He added 30 strikeouts and issued only 11 walks.  He picked up a save in his season debut to complete the doubleheader sweep of Cornell College on March 8.  He then picked up a two-inning save, while striking out two on March 10 against Carroll (Wis.).  His first win of the year came against Wheaton College when he pitched 1.2 innings and struck out three.  He struck out a season-high five in three innings during a win over Simpson on April 17.  During IIAC play, he went 2-0 with four saves in 15.1 innings of work.  In those games, he struck out 20 and issued just seven walks en route to earning First Team All-IIAC accolades and First Team All-Region honors by D3baseball.com.

2014: Posted a team-high 18 appearances out of the bullpen and finished the year with a 4-1 record and a 2.28 ERA.  He ptiched 27.2 innings and allowed just eight runs and 13 hits while striking out 41 and walking only nine.  Opponents hit just .141 against him and only one of his hits allowed went for extra-bases.  He also finished second on the team with four saves.  He picked up the win in his season debut when he struck out two and allowed just one hit over 0.2 innings of the win against UW-La Crosse.  He followed that up the next day by striking out seven hitters through four innings while issuing just one walk in a 3-2 win over St. Thomas.  His first career save came against Luther on March 28 when he allowed just one hit and struck out six over four innings.  He combined to pitch 2.1 innings, allowing just one hit and striking out two in his two appearances during the NCAA Regional Tournament.  Following the year, he was tabbed a Second Team All-IIAC selection and a Third Team All-Region performer by D3baseball.com.

2013: Made 14 relief appearances as a sophomore and went 1-2 overall with a 2.66 ERA in  20.1 innings of work.  He struck out 21 and walked only 10 and was charged with only one extra-base hit.  He pitched 2.1 innings and allowed just two hits and struck out five in a 4-1 loss against Luther on March 29.  He went 2.2 innings and picked up his first win of the year in his previous appearance on March 26 against St. John''s when he allowed three runs and struck out two.

2012: Lucas made seven appearances for the Beavers on the mound as a freshman. He got the start in his first career outing, going four innings at Washington University on March 4. He notched his first career victory in his next appearance, pitching five innings, allowing just one run and striking out eight against UW-Platteville. He won his second straight start when he pitched six innings of BVU''s 19-4 home-opening victory on March 27 against Bethany Lutheran. He later recorded his first career save in the regular season finale at Wartburg College, when he pitched the final 2.1 innings and struck out two.
