Biography

About Jake: Jake is the son of Bill and Lisa Hadaway... brother of Lucas who is also on the baseball team.

High School Highlights: Jake was a four time letter in baseball, along with two time letter winner in football three in basketball, and one time in track. In 2010 Jake was 2nd Team All conference and 1st Team All district. In 2011 Jake was 2nd Team All conference yet again, along with 1st Team All District, and 2nd Team All State. His junior and senior season he recieved 1st Team All conference and All District along with Super Team All State as a Pitcher and Pitcher of the Year in 2012. 

College Highlights:

2017: Honorable Mention All-Iowa Conference...Started all 11 games in which he appeared in...Was a team-best 7-3 overall with a 3.13 ERA over 69.0 innings...Seven wins and 69.0 innings were new career-highs...Led the staff with a career-high 69 strikeouts compared to just 29 walks...Pitched a complete-game five-hitter against Dubuque during the Iowa Conference Tournament while matching his season-high with eight strikeouts...Won his last three starts and pitched at least seven innings in all three.

2016: Had the second-most innings pitched with 56.1 while leading the team, striking out 46 and third on the team with 3.18 ERA. Pitched a complete game shutout against Luther on May 1st where he only allowed 4 hits without allowing a run and striking out 8. He finished the season with a 5-2 record in 10 starts and was named 1st team all conference.

2015: He started eight of the nine games in which he appeared and went 5-1 overall with a 5.03 ERA.  His five wins tied for the team lead and his 39.1 innings of work ranked fifth.  His 46 strikeouts were second-most.  He picked up a win in his season debut when he worked four innings and allowed just three runs while striking out five against Bethany Lutheran on March 9.  He pitched a career-high six innings, allowing one run on five hits while striking out seven as he earned the victory at Dubuque on March 28.

2014: He appeared in 10 games as a freshman, including four starts, and went 1-0 with a 3.42 ERA.  In 23.2 innings of work, he he allowed 18 runs and struck out 34, while allowing just four extra-base hits.  His collegiate debut came against UW-La Crosse on February 28 when he was charged with a pair of unearned runs over 2.1 innings.  He struck out a career-high six over four innings while getting a no-decision against Luther on March 29.  His first collegiate victory came against Simpson College on April 12 when he walked two and struck out two in two innings of relief of a 9-2 win.
