About Tyler: Is the son of Thomas and Tracy...has one sister, Alexis...his father played college baseball at Northwestern College....his mother played college softball at Briar Cliff.
High School Highlights: Was a two-time letterwinner for Coach Jansen and the Crusaders. As both a junior and senior, he was an all-district and all-conference selection, as well as a First Team All-State performer. In addition to football, he lettered three times in baseball and soccer. He was an all-conference and all-district performer on the diamond as both a junior and senior, while also earning all-conference recognition in soccer as a senior.
Aside from athletics, he was listed on the Gold Honor Roll.
College Highlights:
2015: He would appear in all 10 games as the kicker for the beavers. He would be 4-8 on field goals and 18-20 on PAT’s. Against Loras he was 2-2 on field goals and 5-5 on PAT’s. He was named first team all conference punter.
2014: Tyler played in all 10 games and was again among the top kickers in the Iowa Conference. He finished the year converting 9-of-12 field goal attempts and 34-of-40 PAT''s. He made a season-long 32-yard field goal on two separate occasions and drilled a career-best eight PAT''s at Waldorf. In addition, he punted the ball 35 times for an average of 37.7 yards, including a career-long boot of 62 yards. He had seven kicks inside the 20-yard line and three went for fair catches. Following the year, he was tabbed a Second Team All-IIAC selection as a punter and Honorable Mention as a placekicker.
2013: Turned in a stellar freshman season for the Beavers while seving as the team''s starting place-kicker and punter. For the year, he made 24 of his 25 PAT attempts and went 11-for-17 in field goal opportunities. He nailed a career-long of 46 yards in just his second career game. He made a career-high three field goals during the team''s road win at Luther and then hit the eventual game-winning 25-yard field goal with under a minute to play in the team''s 29-28 victory against Dubuque in the season finale.
While punting the ball, he averaged 40.3 yards per punt on the year which led the conference. Of his 44 total punts, 11 of them landed inside the 20 yard-line and seven went for touchbacks. He had at least one punt of 40 yards or more in nine of the 10 games, including a career-long of 62 against the Spartans.
Following the year, he was the first-ever player to earn First Team All-IIAC honors as both a punter and place-kicker.
