RIPON, Wis. (Sept. 20, 2026) - The Buena Vista women's soccer team wrapped up its weekend road trip on Sunday afternoon at Ripon College, but the Beavers came up short as the Red Hawks escaped with a 3-1 victory.
Ripon got on the board first with a goal during the 16th minute and never trailed from there. The Red Hawks held BVU to only one shot attempt over the first 45 minutes and led 1-0 at the half before they doubled that margin early in the second with a goal 10 minutes in. The Beavers cut the deficit in half five minutes later with an own goal on a ball that was deflected into the goal by a defender off a corner kick.
The Red Hawks (2-4-0) finished the match with a 16-4 shot advantage, and added a big insurance goal midway through the half for the final score.
Lindsey Brunell,
Brynn Pfeffer and
Serena Moss each had one shot (all on-goal) to lead the way for the Beavers offensively.
Elliana Fantasia and
Denae Thayer each played a half in-goal with both posting three saves apiece.
Buena Vista falls to 0-4-1 overall and travels to Faith Baptist Bible College for a non-conference match on Thursday, Sept. 24 starting at 4 p.m.
