STORM LAKE, Iowa (May 21, 2026) - U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) recently announced its All-Region performers for the 2026 outdoor season, and Buena Vista freshman Hailey Hearting was recognized for her performance this season in the heptathlon and named to the Midwest All-Region Team.

All-Region recognition is awarded to the top eight individuals in each event within each region based on the year-end Athletic.net descending order lists, along with each member of the region's top-eight relay teams.

Hearting set the school record in the event during the American Rivers Conference Outdoor Championships with a runner-up finish by chalking up 4,410 points, breaking the  37-year mark of 4,379 points by Barb Buckwalter. Hearting would finish the season ranked eighth in the Midwest.

Hearting narrowly missed  out on all-region accolades in the javelin where she was ninth. Teammate Ava Mills was ninth in the heptathlon while Payton Schermerhorn was 12th in the shot put.
