HILTON HEAD, S.C. (March 12, 2026) - The Buena Vista men's tennis team made it back-to-back wins on Wednesday afternoon after taking care of business against Lancaster Bible College with a strong 6-1 victory.

BVU carried momentum from its victory on Tuesday into this match and came out and won both doubles matches to begin the day.

In singles play, Tyler Harger had a thrilling victory in a three-set tiebreaker. He came out strong with a 6-1 triumph in the first set and then dropped a tight 6-4 decision in the second. He bounced back in a big way with a strong 10-5 victory in the tiebreaker. The Beavers were able to win the remaining four matches played in straight sets.

"This was a great win from start to finish for the entire team," said BVU head coach Brett Groen. "It's always a great feeling when everybody on the team contributes to how the win goes, and after a slow start in doubles yesterday, the team came out firing today. The mojo from doubles moved right in to singles and Jeb Bathrick notched win number three and then Ryan (Smith) nailed the fourth win for the team.

"Bryson (Fredericksen) and Tyler (Harger) both were in late match battles, but both came out with great wins and the team finished up with six wins on the day," added Groen. This was a great way to finish our week here in South Carolina, and gives us momentum for the last match on the road in Kentucky before we get back home and into matches within the A-R-C."

Buena Vista will take on Berea College on Friday, March 13.
