WAVERLY, Iowa (Oct. 13, 2026) - The Buena Vista women's soccer team went on the road to Wartburg College for an American Rivers Conference match on Tuesday evening, but the Knights added four insurance goals over the second half to pull away for a 5-0 victory.
The two teams first had to wait out an hour-long lightning delay before the match even started and it wasn't until near the midway point of the first half when Wartburg broke a scoreless tie with a goal during the 21'. The Knights (6-5-2, 1-2 A-R-C) continued to put the pressure on throughout the half with 15 shots to only two by the Beavers, but junior
Maia Jaroch made five saves to keep it a 1-0 margin at the half.
BVU was held without a shot over the second half while Wartburg scored four times on 12 of its total shots over the final 45 minutes. Jaroch went the distance and added three more saves to finish the night with eight overall.
Buena Vista is now 2-8-1 (0-3 A-R-C) and will host Loras College for part of Family Weekend on Saturday, Oct. 17 at 5 p.m. It will follow the BVU football game against Coe College that kicksoff at 1 p.m.
