MANKATO, Minn. (May 2, 2025) - The Buena Vista men's track & field team headed back to Mankato State University on Friday to take part in the Maverick Open and came away with several top-3 finishes, including one individual championship.
Junior
Abraham Christensen took the title in the shot put at 14.21 meters (46-7.5). Senior
Kyle Miller sat a new personal best in the 400-meter run and placed second in a time of 49.79 which was within 1.5 seconds of the program record.
Sophomore
Devon Schultz took third in the pole vault for the Beavers at 4.64 meters while junior
Blaine Peebles came in third in the javelin throw with a season-best at 43.96 meters. The 4x400m relay team of Miller, Zach Thompson,
Hadyn Piskorski and Peebles also came in third with a clocking of 3:35.60.
Buena Vista will now gear up for the American Rivers Conference Championships which take place on Friday, May 9 and run through Saturday, May 10. This year's championships will be held on the campus of Simpson College.
