WAVERLY, Iowa (Apr. 5, 2025) - The Buena Vista men's outdoor track & field was back in action at the Wartburg College Select Meet and the Beavers had several top-10 individual performances.

Sophomore Devon Schultz placed second in the pole vault for the team's highest single performance. He had the best finish of any DIII individual at 4.70 meters with the only higher finish being from Northern Iowa at 5.30 meters. Nick Walch was close behind in fourth and turned in his best mark of the outdoor season at 4.40 meters.

Walch added to his strong weekend with a fifth-place effort in the 400-meter hurdles in a time of 57.54 seconds. Blaine Peebles was ninth at 58.43.

Abraham Christensen placed eighth in the shot put with a heave of 13.85 meters (45-5.25).

Ethan Martin took home 10th in the triple jump while the 4x100 meter relay team of Peebles, Walch, Schultz and Ethan Hays also placed 10th.

Buena Vista is back on the track next weekend as it competes in the Sioux City Relays on Apr. 11-12.
