Simpson was the team that heated up in the second, going 12-of-24 overall and opening up a 41-28 advantage at the half. The Storm went on and led by as many as 24 points in the third quarter before BVU slowly chipped away and got it down to 58-40 heading to the fourth.
The Beavers then had their best quarter over the final 10 minutes, but it was a little to late. The team made 10-of-19 shot attempts but just 2-of-6 from distance. It came out and scored the first nine points of the period to cut the deficit down to nine less than 90 seconds in but the Storm quickly came back with a made jumper and a three-point make to push it back to 14 at 63-49. BVU hung around and Demers made her only three-point basket with 3:29 remaining that brought the Beavers within seven 65-58 but that was as close as they'd get.Â
Despite shooting under 40 percent from the field, the Storm (4-3, 2-0 A-R-C)were able to take advantage of 24 offensive rebounds in the game and out-rebounded BVU by 16 at 51-35.
