ST. PAUL, Minn. (Nov. 14, 2025) - The Buena Vista women's basketball team went on the road for the first time this season on Friday night, and behind a 21-point performance by junior Mary Walker, the Beavers rolled to a 73-51 victory at Macalester College.
BVU came out and shot only 14-of-44 in the first half but used a strong defensive effort of its own to hold a 33-27 lead at the break. The Beavers were dominant in the paint all night long, scoring 42 of its 73 points around the rim after going 8-of-27 from long range.
A pair of quick baskets in the paint, along with a pair of Walker three-point makes, quickly pushed a three-point cushion up to a 47-36 lead midway through the third quarter. The Scots cut the deficit down to seven but the Beavers closed the period on a 10-3 run to lead 57-43 going to the fourth.
A fast break layup by Walker off a defensive rebound from senior Danika Demers to begin the fourth quarter set the tone for the Beavers who went on to score the first seven points of the frame and never looked back.
