DUBUQUE, Iowa (Oct. 4, 2025) - The Buena Vista men's soccer team was on the road at unbeaten Loras College on Saturday night, but the Duhawks pulled away with four second half goals en route to a 5-0 victory inside of the Rock Bowl.

The Beaver defense held strong throughout the first half despite having Loras post 17 shots and didn't allow a goal until the final minutes of the period when the Duhawks finally got one past Zachary Sigler with under four minutes remaining to lead 1-0 at the break.

Loras went on to add 17 more shots over the course of the second half with four resulting in a goal. It was still a 1-0 contest until midway through when the Duhawks scored twice over a three minute span, with the second coming in the 65'. That's how things remained until the 81' when Loras made it 4-0 and then added the final one with five minutes to play.

Cael Thacker turned in two shots while Andres Gonzalez added the final. All three attempts were off target. Dani Galiana Torres scored one goal and led the Duhawks with a match-high six shots, including three on-goal.

Sigler went the distance for the Beavers in-goal and tallied nine total saves.

Buena Vista is now 5-5-1 on the year (0-2 A-R-C) and will host Coe College (3-4-4, 1-1 A-R-C) on Wednesday, Oct. 8 at 7:30 p.m.
