YANKTON, S.D. (Jan. 18, 2025) - The Buena Vista University men's indoor track & field team captured a pair of individual titles on Saturday during the Mount Marty Open with fifth-year Kyle Miller in the mile run and sophomore Devon Schultz in the pole vault.

Schultz cleared 14' 1.25" which tied his indoor personal best and tied for the individual title with Dordt University's Willem Den Hartog. Fellow sophomore Nick Walch was right behind in third at 13' 1.5"

Miller, who won the 600m run in his season debut last week, captured the title in the mile run this week by nearly three seconds in a time of 4:27.07.

Junior Carter Braun came in second in the 600m run with his personal best time of 1:26.45 with senior Zach Thompson taking seventh in 1:34.24.

Junior Abraham Christensen came in third with a toss of 14.14m (46-4.75) in the shot put and took 14th in the weight throw.

Isaiah Thomas and Ethan Martin came in fifth and sixth place, respectively, in the triple jump.

Buena Vista returns to action on Saturday, Jan. 25, by hosting the annual Dennis Young Indoor Classic inside of the Lamberti Recreation Center on the Dennis Young Track. Field events will get the day started at 11 a.m. with running events getting underway at 1 p.m.
