Men's Soccer Handed 2-0 Loss by Hamline

STORM LAKE, Iowa (Sept. 7, 2024) - The Buena Vista University men's soccer team battled against visiting Hamline University on Sunday evening, but the Pipers broke a scoreless halftime match with two second half goals en route to a 2-0 victory.

After playing a man down due to a second yellow card, the Pipers then registered a pair of goals less than two minutes apart within the first 10 minutes of the second half, and that was all they needed.

Hamline, now 5-0 on the year, finished the match with 11 total shots while BVU was held to only three. The two sides combined for only five in the second half.

Kade Stover gave the Beavers their only shot-on-goal attempt in the contest. Zachary Sigler went the distance in-goal and posted one save.

Buena Vista dropped its first match of the year and is now 3-1 overall. The team returns to the pitch on Thursday, Sept. 12, for its first road trip of the season when it travels to Maranatha Baptist University for a 4:15 p.m. kickoff.
