INDIANOLA, Iowa - The Buena Vista University Rocket League team closed out the season with another conference title. This was a nice victory as the MVEC is the conference with the ARC schools. BVU went 3-0 in playoffs defeating Simpson twice and Wartburg once. Yesterday the squad used a fierce comeback to claim the inaugural championship 4-3.
BVU and Simpson battled it out for the championship yesterday afternoon. The two teams played an extremely close series. Four of the seven games went into overtime and were decided by one goal. The first game showed how the series was gonna go. It went into overtime with Simpson claiming the victory 1-0. In game two the Beavers opened up a 3-0 lead but Simpson battled back falling 4-3. The series was event 1-1.
The next two games belonged to the Storm as they claimed a 3-1 lead after four games. BVU focused in and found their grove winning the final three games to come away with the 4-3 victory. The final game went into overtime and
Ryan Webb got the winning goal.
Ashton Greenough had a solid series while
Matt Mills played very good defensively helping BVU to the vicotry.
