#20 Duhawks Top Beavers 90-32

DUBUQUE, Iowa (Feb. 7, 2024) - The Buena Vista women's basketball team went on the road Wednesday evening to play No. 20 Loras College, but it was the Duhawks rolling to the American Rivers Conference victory, 90-32.

BVU was held to only 10 first-half points after shooting 4-of-24 overall, including 1-of-13 in the second quarter. Loras, meanwhile, opened up a 24-6 lead after one period and extended that margin to 41-10 at the break. The Duhawks were just 3-of-15 from long range over the first 20 minutes but were aided by an 11-of-13 effort at the free-throw line.

After being held to just four field goals in the first half, the Beavers made four in each of the final two stanzas with two of those eight makes coming from downtown. The team was held to only nine free-throw attempts in the contest and made six.

WBB BVU Loras

Sophomore Abby Nagel made 4-of-8 from the field and led the Beavers with eight points. Senior Addison Weber made one of the team's two long range buckets, to go along with a 3-of-3 night at the charity stripe, and followed with six points. Sophomore Sidney Reimer chipped in with four points while grabbing a team-leading five rebounds.

Sami Martin scored a game-high 21 points and hauled in 10 boards to lead Loras (19-3, 11-2 A-R-C). The Duhawks made 10 3's on the night and held a 45-30 edge on the glass.

Buena Vista is now 2-18 on the year (1-12 A-R-C) and travels to No. 7 Wartburg College on Saturday, Feb. 10, for a 2 p.m. tip-off.
