STORM LAKE, Iowa - The Buena Vista University Esports squad continues to play in high level competition as the season winds down. The Beavers went 2-1 overall in Wednesday evenings competitions.
In their first ever season the Mario Kart team advanced to the Division 6 Finals. BVU came up against a team that they lost their only two regular season losses came to in New Mexico State University. Looking for revenge the Beavers started strong but could not keep up with the Aggies falling 2-0 in the best of three championship season. The Beavers ended the fall with a 9-3 record. The Beavers were led by
Amber Lawthers and
Matthew Forristal.
Parker Currie and
Rhyann Rojas were close behind. The final two spots rotated throughout the season with
Ethan Tompkins,
Gregory Stueven,
Joseph Groetken and
Lucian Benjamin all contributing. We are looking forward to the spring.
Rocket League Navy played in the semi finals of ECAC Division E playoffs last night against the #1 seed Molloy University. The Beavers fell to Molloy in the regular season 4-2 but got the best of them this go around in a very close game. The Beavers won 4-3 (5-2, 2-4, 4-1, 0-1, 3-2, 0-5, 3-2) in a highly contested match. For the first time in school history the Beavers have advanced to an ECAC Championship. BVU will take on St. Mary's University out of Texas on December 11th at 7 pm. BVU is 6-2 overall on the season and the team consists of
Cody Fuller,
Daniel Martinez, Matthew Mills and
Samuel Sturms.
Rainbow Six Siege closed out their fall with a solid effort defeating Northern Iowa 2-0 (7-2, 7-3) finishing 3rd in NECC Division VI. The Beavers finished the season 9-1 overall with their only loss coming to the team that won the division Hastings College. The Beavers went 1-1 against Hastings this fall. The team consists of the following players Nathan Ruesch,

Alex Hartman.
BVU's next game is on Friday, December 6 at 7 pm with Overwatch White competing in the 3rd place match against Mizzou Club Bali in NECC Division IX Midwest playoffs.
