Martin Luther uses Hot 3-pt Shootng during 75-54 Win over Beavers

NEW ULM, Minn (Nov. 15, 2024) - Martin Luther made 13 three-point shots and was 50 percent from long range overall, as the Knights used that hot shooting to get past the Buena Vista women's basketball team, 75-54, on Friday night in a non-conference match-up.

Freshman Tyme Boettcher was the only player to score in double figures for BVU and finished with 12. Junior Danika Demers, senior McKenna Cone and freshman Bradi Krager all followed with seven points each. All seven of Krager's points came at the free-throw line and she also grabbed a team-leading and career-hig seven rebounds. Boettcher made two of BVU's four three-point buckets as the Beavers were held to only 4-of-21 from long range.

BVU made 17 field goals in the game and 16 from the free-throw line. The Beavers finished at just 33 percent shooting from the field overall and 16-of-27 (59.3 percent) from the charity stripe.

Martin Luther led wire-to-wire in the contest with the final margin marking its largest lead. The Knights led 20-11 after the first quarter and 40-23 at the half. BVU could never make a run of its own as Martin Luther made four three-point baskets in the first, second and fourth quarters.

Mya Morris paced four players in double figures for the Knights (1-1) with 19 points and nine rebounds, on 4-of-7 shooting from downtown.

Buena Vista is now 0-2 on the year and will look to bounce back and get into the win column on Saturday afternoon, Nov. 16, with a 2 p.m. tip-off at Bethany Lutheran (1-1).
