DUBUQUE, Iowa (Oct. 26, 2024) - The Buena Vista University men's soccer team went on the road Saturday for its final road trip of the season, but the Beavers came up on the short end of a 3-0 setback against the University of Dubuque.
Dubuque broke through first with a goal midway through the opening half before scoring its final two goals only a minute apart during the 32' and 33', respectively. The Spartans held a 15-1 advantage in total shots over the first 45 minutes.
It was an evenly match contest over the final half of play with 10 shots for Dubuque and six by the Beavers, but only five combined attempts were on target.
Kendall Bickford and
Dominick Kamrath each posted two total shots for BVU with one of Kamrath's coming on-goal.
Kade Stover and
Jeramiah Rediske each added one shot-on-goal.
Isaiah Thomas got the start in-goal for the Beavers and played the first 33:47 before handing things over to
Zachary Sigler for the remainder of the contest. Thomas recorded a pair of saves while Sigler manged three.
Buena Vista drops below .500 for the first time this season at 9-10 while falling to 0-7 in conference play. The Beavers wrap up the season on Tuesday, Oct. 29, by hosting Wartburg College at 7:30 p.m.
