VERONA, Wis. (Sept. 18, 2023) - Connor Williams scores his first goal of the season for Buena Vista to tie things up at 1-1 late in the first half at Edgewood College on Monday afternoon, but it was the Eagles responding with a pair of second half goals to get past the Beavers, 3-1.

Edgewood jumped in front 1-0 during the eighth minute of the game and that's the way things stood until Williams scored off an assist from Sota Usui with eight minutes remaining in the half.

Miguel Konde Gwo broke the tie 15 minutes into the second half and would later score on a bicycle kick five minutes later for the final score. Noah Hook, who scored the first goal, led Edgewood with six shots with Gwo adding five.

The Eagles, now 5-2-1 overall, would finish with 24 total shots, including 10 on-goal, while Buena Vista was held to only six shots. Kendall Bickford and Eduardo Garcia each had two shots with Usui and Williams turning in one apiece. Cody Fuller went the distance in-goal for the Beavers and did post seven saves. 

Buena Vista drops to 1-5-1 on the year and returns home to host Blackburn College on Wednesday, Sept. 20, in a non-conference match-up starting at 5 p.m.
