Box Score RIPON, Wis. (Sept. 16, 2023) - Sophomore Kendall Bickford scored his fourth goal of the year to put Buena Vista on the board early in the second half, but the Beavers couldn't overcome a 2-0 halftime deficit to Ripon on Saturday as they fell to the Red Hawks, 4-1.

Ripon jumped out to a 1-0 lead less than 10 minutes into the contest and added another first-half goal midway through the period. 

Jacob Oppeneer scored the second of his three goals in the match early in the second half to put the Red Hawks in front, 3-0, before Bickford put BVU on the board during the 56th minute. Oppeneer then completed the hat trick with 30 seconds left to play.

Ripon had 19 total shots in the contest while the Beavers were held to only five. Bickford turned in three of the team's five shots.

Cody Fuller made his second appearance in-goal for the Beavers this season and went the distance for the first time, finishing with five saves.

Buena Vista is now 1-4-1 overall and wraps up its Wisconsin trip on Monday, Sept. 18, for a non-conference match at Edgewood starting at 3 p.m.
