Football Tabbed Sixth in A-R-C Preseason Coaches Poll

STORM LAKE, Iowa (Aug. 18, 2023) - The American Rivers Conference has announced its 2023 Preseason Football Coaches Poll with Buena Vista University picked to finish sixth.

BVU finished sixth in last season's final standings after going 3-5 in conference play and 4-6 overall. The Beavers, which total 23 points in this year's poll, are expected to return 10 total starters for first-year head coach Austin Dickinson.

Wartburg College, which went 8-0 in league play and 13-1 overall, is the coaches' unanimous pick to repeat this fall. Coe College, which went 6-2, picked up the final first-place vote and totaled 51 points to take third. Central College, which finished one spot behind the Kohawks in 2022, tallied 54 points to finish second.

The Beavers kickoff their 2023 campaign on Saturday, Sept. 2, at Gustavus Adolphus College. The home opener is Saturday, Sept. 9 against Lakeland University. The team begins A-R-C play on Saturday, Sept. 16 at Wartburg College.
