STORM LAKE, Iowa (Feb. 15, 2023) - The Buena Vista women's basketball team is set to take on Central College tonight at 5:30 pm. for its last game of the season.

McKenna Cone is the Beavers leading scorer with 265 points on the season (12.0ppg). Freshman
Danika Demers is leading the Beavers with an 81 percent shooting mark (35-for-43) from the line and also leads the team in assists with 99 and steals with 39. Senior
Vanessa Hamlett leads the team in rebounds with 124 whileÂ
Lindsey Anhalt is close behind with 121 rebounds. Both players take the court ranked in the top-15 of the A-R-C rankings.
Kelsea Hurley is Central's leading scorer with 322 points on the season (14.0ppg). Hurley is also leading the Dutch with 48 made three-point shots as well as 90 percent shooting (70-for-78) from the free throw line. Allison Van Gorp is the Dutch's leading rebounder with 151 this season, and Hurley isn't far behind with 147. Jasmyn Williams and Hurley are leading the team with 26 steals.Â
The two teams met up in mid-January down in Pella with the Dutch getting a last-second basket to edge BVU in a thriller, 60-58. Cone led the way for the Beavers in that contest with 27 points while Hamlett scored six points, grabbed eight rebounds and dished out six assists. BVU, whic held the Dutch to just over 31 percent shooting from the field, was held to only four total free-throw attempts. The two teams combined for only 13.
Tonight will also be Senior Night for BVU with four individuals being recognized directly following the game: Dresback,
Emerson Else,
Emily Newton and Hamlett.
