STORM LAKE, Iowa (Oct. 26, 2023) - The Buena Vista men's soccer team officially concluded its season on Thursday night by falling to Hamline University, 6-0, in a match that was resumed after being halted due to extreme heat back on September 3 in St. Paul.

The original match was halted midway through the first half just after the Pipers had broke the 0-0 tie. It resumed tonight inside of J. Leslie Rollins Stadium midway through the period, and the Pipers would add pair of unassisted goals just five minutes apart before converting a penalty kick inside the final five minutes to lead 4-0 at the break.

Hamline, which chalked up 16 shots over the first period were held to only four in the second. Kendall Bickford caught fire and narrowly missed on multiple shot attempts, including one that bounced directly off the right post. The sophomore helped lead the attack as BVU tried to mount a comeback, totaling six shots overall as the Beavers had eight in the half.

Connor Mahoney and Aidan O'Flaherty had the two shots-on-goals for BVU while Sota Usui also added an attempt shortly into the resumption of play.

Ryder Tomlinson Sterud led the Pipers with three shots, two on-goal, and picked up one of the team's six goals. 

Buena Vista finishes its season at 1-15-3 overall. The match was also the final one in the careers of five seniors: Eduardo Garcia, Marcos Rosales, Connor Williams, Tyler Crall and Bryson Hamersky.
