HANCOCK, Mich. (Sept. 3, 2022) - Sophomore defender
Kaycie King registered her first career goal early in the 80th minute on Saturday morning to help send the Buena Vista women's soccer team to a thrilling 1-0 non-conference road victory at Finlandia University.
King finished with two shot attempts in the contest as BVU posted 13 overall.
Chloe Lippert and
Madyline Taylor led all players with three shots each. It was BVU's first goal scored in its last eight matches, dating back to last season against Luther College on October 2.
Maddy Bigalke went the distance in-goal and registered six saves to earn her first career shutout victory.
Buena Vista improves to 1-1 overall and notches its first victory since a 2-1 win over Crown College last season, snapping a 13-match winless streak. The Beavers will go after back-to-back victories when it plays at UW-River Falls on Monday, September 5, at 4:00 p.m.
