STORM LAKE, Iowa (Sept. 18, 2022) - The Buena Vista men's soccer team hosted Grinnell College on Sunday afternoon in a non-conference match-up, but the Pioneers scored twice in a span of four minutes late in the first half to build a 2-0 halftime lead en route to a 5-0 victory.

The Pioneers broke a scoreless match during the 32nd minute and doubled the advantage four minutes later for the 2-0 halftime cushion.

BVU was unable to get much of a push going offensively, being held without a shot in the contest. Grinnell turned in 10 shots during the first half and followed with 15 in the second when it also scored three times in the later half of the period.

Isaiah Thomas made the start in goal and played the first half before giving way to Tyler Pennington for the second 45 minutes.  Thomas later came in and played the field for the Beavers.

Buena Vista dips to 0-5-2 overall this season and will be off until next Saturday, September 24, when it will begin American Rivers Conference play by hosing Wartburg College at 3:30 p.m.
