ABOUT COE
The Kohawks begin their American Rivers Conference schedule this afternoon and will take the field for the first time since March 18 when they completed their spring trip with wins over Salve Regina and Rown, respectively. Since a 1-4 start to the year, Coe has since rattled off wins in 10 of 11 games, including nine straight.
As a team, the Kohawks are hitting .269 overall and averaging just over 5.0 runs per contest. Ruby Kappeler leads the team and ranks 18th in the A-R-C in average (.383). Natalie Blank is hitting .378 and is leading the team with a .649 slugging percentage. She has four doubles and has connected on two of the team's six home runs.
Hannah Ausenhus and Abbie White have each started three games inside the circle this season while Abby Stock has three. White leads the way with 31 innings pitched and 26 strikeouts and is 4-0 with a 2.26 ERA and three saves. Ausenhus is 2-1 with a 2.13 ERA over 26.1 innings. Ellie Thurow has pitched 15.1 innings, primarily in relief and has yet to allow an earned run. The overall staff ERA of 2.45 is currently fourth in the league. It has used a solid defensive to back them up - one that holds a .951 fielding percentage overall.
The Kohawks are coming off a COVID-19 season in 2021 where they finished 25-15 overall (18-6 A-R-C).

ABOUT BVU
The Beavers continue their home slate this afternoon after splitting a doubleheader here against the University of Dubuque on Saturday to begin A-R-C play. BVU started fast and rolled to an 8-0 (6-inning) win in game one before falling 5-3 in eight innings in the finale. The team will take the field having won seven of its last nine games overall.
It's been a balanced attack up-and-down the lineup all season for BVU. Currently, the team has five batters hitting over .330, led by fifth-year senior Carlee Guyett who's also fifth in the league at .434. She has a conference-best 36 hits and 12 doubles and is third in runs (22). Nattie Murillo is one of three players tied for the league lead with five home runs and she also has a .649 slugging percentage. Freshman Chloe Wells is second behind Guyett among conference leaders with 10 doubles and 19 RBI. As a team, BVU is batting .303 and is third in the A-R-C with 130 runs scored. It also leads the way with 49 doubles and nine triples and is also third with 35 stolen bases.
Ashtyn Miller and Peyton Gross have been a stellar duo inside the circle with Kennedi Claycomb giving the team depth. They all three have over 30 innings pitched on the year. Miller is 7-2 with a 1.86 ERA over her 12 appearances and 63 innings. Gross has worked a team-leading 72.1 innings and is 6-4 with a 4.23 ERA. Miler and Gross have also combined for 123 strikeouts and only 47 walks. Claycomb has chipped in with four wins over seven appearances.
