STORM LAKE, Iowa (December 6, 2022) – The Buena Vista women's basketball team returns home for more American Rivers Conference action with a pair of matchups this week vs Nebraska Wesleyan and Luther, respectively.

ABOUT BUENA VISTAÂ
The Beavers opened American Rivers Conference play last week with a pair of road losses to Dubuque and Loras. They will aim to bounce back Wednesday against Nebraska Wesleyan. As a squad, BVU enters the matchup with the seventh-ranked scoring offense in the league, averaging 59.7 points per game. Helping to lead the charge for the offense is
McKenna Cone. The sophomore currently ranks 14
th in scoring, averaging 10.8 points per game and is 16th in field goal percentage. The team is looking to get off to stronger starts over the first 10 minutes of a game. In the last two outings, BVU has been outscored by a combined margin of 50-13 in the first quarter. Over the final 30 minutes, the margin is at only four points (106-102). Through two league contests, the Beavers are leading the way in field goal percentage at just over 40 percent. Defensively, the Beavers sit eight in the A-R-C allowing 71.6 points per game and are right in the middle in rebounding. BVU goes up against the Prairie Wolves having won three straight in the series, including a 63-45 triumph back on January 26 in Storm Lake.

ABOUT NEBRASKA WESLEYAN
Nebraska Wesleyan split a pair of games last week to open up A-R-C play. They Prairie Wolves picked up the win in the first game against Central, 66-65, before dropping the second to Luther, 64-49. The Prairie Wolves' offense ranks eighth in the A-R-C, averaging 57.5 points per game. They are led by leading scorer Brianna Denton. Denton enters the week averaging 8.8 points per game. Â Defensively, the squad ranks eighth with 71.6 points allowed per game.Â
