DUBUQUE, Iowa (Oct. 8, 2022) - The Buena Vista football team visited Loras College in an American Rivers Conference matchup on Saturday, and it proved to be all Duhawks from the get-go, as the Beavers were handed a 65-0 loss.

It was a tough afternoon for the Beavers afternoon averaging only 3.94 yards per play while not reaching the endzone. After stopping Loras on 4th-and-1 on the game's first drive, the Beavers drove back down the field on their first possession, but had the drive come up empty after a missed 31-yard field goal attempt.

Loras broke through with a pair of touchdowns over the final three minutes of the first quarter and never looked back. Midway through the second quarter, the Duhawks took advantage of BVU miscues and added three more touchdowns over a three-minute span while running only nine plays from scrimmage. Later in the half, Loras added a safety along with its fourth touchdown of the quarter to lead 44-0 at the half. The Duhawks added two more passing touchdowns and one on the ground over the final 30 minutes for the game's final score.

BVU sophomore quarterback Zach Herrera was 12-of-28 through the air for 190 yards while being intercepted four times. Mason Griffith carried the ball 17 times for 31 yards. Dolan Pospichal had a team-high four catches for 75 yards. Jeremiah Powell finished with three grabs for 72 yards. The Beavers defense was led by a trio of players. Alan Pruneda recorded a sack in a four tackle performance. BJ Glover Jr had an interception and a pass breakup to go along with a 3 tackle performance. Jeremy Woodward recorded a team-high 8 tackles.

Evan England had a standout game to help lead the Duhawks (3-3, 3-1 A-R-C). He was 21-of-31 through the air for 293 yards and four touchdowns while also rushing for 40 yards on six attempts with a touchdown. Ty Bausch and Keilon Pritchett both recorded 100+ yard performances on the ground for the Duhawks. Bausch ran for 142 yards and two touchdowns on 21 attempts. Pritchett rushed for 103 yards and a touchdown on 11 attempts. Jamel Britt had team-high four catches for 72 yards and a touchdown. Da'Mani Brown recorded two receiving touchdowns. The Duhawks defense was led by Joey Foley who recorded two of the team's five interceptions.

Buena Vista dips to 2-4 overall (1-3 A-R-C) and will host No. 24 Central College (3-2, 1-2 A-R-C) next Saturday for a 1:00 p.m. kick-off at J. Leslie Rollins Stadium & Peterson field.
