STORM LAKE, Iowa (Oct. 22, 2022) - The Buena Vista women's soccer team put up a good fight against No. 17 Loras on Saturday afternoon to close out the home schedule, but the Duhawks proved to be just too much in the end as they handed BVU a 6-0 loss inside of J. Leslie Rollins Stadium.
Loras (13-0-3, 7-0 A-R-C) struck first just seven minutes into the match before then converting one of its two penalty kick opportunities in the half just five minutes later for a 2-0 lead. The second of the two PK's came late in the 32nd minute for a 4-0 margin. The Duhawks, who had 15 shots in the first half, added three more to the total in the second half with two resulting in goals.
BVU's only shot attempt on the afternoon came from
Amanda Brich in the second half.
Trisha Westphal went the distance in-goal and posted three saves.
Buena Vista is now 4-11-1 overall (0-7 A-R-C) and will wrap up its season on Tuesday night at the University of Dubuque with kickoff at 7:30 p.m.
