STORM LAKE, Iowa (March 27, 2021) - The Buena Vista women's soccer team was faced with the tough challenge of hosting preseason favorite Wartburg College on Saturday afternoon and would drop a tough 12-0 loss to the Knights inside J. Leslie Rollins Stadium.  

Wartburg (1-0, 1-0 A-R-C) built a 3-0 lead midway through the first half and would add three more to take a 6-0 lead at the break.  The Knights came out of halftime and scored a pair of goals over the first two minutes of the second half and held the Beavers to only one shot attempt for the contest.

Joy Smith lead the way for Wartburg with three goals and was the only player to score multiple times.

Buena Vista (0-1, 0-1 A-R-C) will look to bounce back as it continues its eight-game season with a road match at Simpson College on Tuesday evening at 5:00 p.m.
