STORM LAKE, Iowa - Monday was another busy night for the Buena Vista Esports squad. Rainbow Six competed in the NECC league falling 2-0 (7-4, 7-4) against Suny-Oswego while Derien Beauregard won 2-0 (22-8, 45-26) against Reusser72 of Shenandoah University in NACE Madden. Kyle Miller fell 2-0 (17-3, 49-8) against Godz_Docholiday of Boise State University in Madden. Gor Riak opened play in the PlayVs FIFA league. Riak fell 2-0 (3-1, 5-2) against Nicospeako of Stockton University. Ramon Garcia won by forfeit in the XBOX PlayVs FIFA league. 

Rainbow Six opened play on Monday taking on Sun-Oswego. The Beavers opened play attacking the Villa map. BVU started strong winning two of the first three rounds taking a 2-1 lead. Oswego game back winning the next two rounds on defense and then BVU came back to tie the score at 3-3 before changing to defenders. The Beavers struggled defending Villa losing four of the five rounds to fall on map one 7-4. Aaron Pluym led the way with 15 kills while Theing Soe had 9. Abigail Kraft had 6 kills while Brody McLemore followed with five. 

The second map was Kafe Dostoyevsky and the Beavers started on defense. BVU started strong winning three of the first four rounds. Oswego tied the score at three moving to the attacking side. BVU went up 4-3 winning the first round attacking but from there it was all Oswego as they took the final four rounds claiming the 7-4 victory. Pluym led the way again with 12 kills while Soe collected 11. Michael Melohn finished with six. 

The Beavers are 1-3 in the league and will take on Butler University on Monday, March 8 at 5 pm. 

In Madden play Beauregard had a rematch with his opponent of Shenandoah University. In the first match up Reusser72 beat Deebo 2-0 (28-25, 30-23). Deebo came back Monday evening with two dominating wins by scores of 22-8 and 45-26. Deebo is now 3-2 in the league. Miller had a touch match up against the undefeated Boise State opponent. Miller struggled getting anything going offensively as turnovers and solid defense by his opponent made it tough. Miller is now 2-3 in the league. 

Riak opened play in the PlayVs PlayStation FIFA league. He had a touch match up falling 3-1 and 5-2. Riak cut the score to 2-1 in the first game but could not get another goal in the match. In game two Riak was down 3-2 before his opponent scored the final two goals. Riak will play again next Monday with an opponent to be determined. 

Next up Nico Flores will take on Kota of Barton College in NACE Madden on Thursday, March 4th at 5 pm. He will look to stay undefeated. Garcia and Tanner Frost will play each other in FIFA on Thursday as well. Flores will also take on Elliott Johnson of Texas Southern in the opening week of PlayVs Madden. Zack Huffman will take on Colt Berry of Rogers State University on Wednesday evening.
