LAST TIME OUT
In the Beavers second straight road game, they fell short to Dubuque 59-46 on Saturday, February 20. It was a tight game as the Beavers came back from a 7-point deficit in the first quarter as they tied the game up at 12 apiece. The contest would stay this close through halftime as the Spartans took a 24-22 lead thanks to last second layup. Dubuque jumped out to a quick 8-point lead in the third quarter, but BVU was hanging on going into the fourth 41-35. A few strips to the free throw line gave Dubuque its first double-digit lead and although the Beavers tried to surmount a comeback, they were unable to close the deal. Sophomore Olivia Larsen led the team with 19 points, 7 boards and 6 takeaways and freshman Megan Morenz contributed 11 points and matched Larsen's rebounds (7) and steals (6). BVU looks to improve on their shooting from their last appearance, specifically from long range as they went just 11.5 percent from behind the arc.
ABOUT THE PRAIRIE WOLVES
Nebraska Wesleyan comes off a tough 92-52 road loss to Central College on Monday, February 22. Like BVU, the Prairie Wolves sole victory of the season so far has come from 0-6 Luther. In that game, freshman Johanna Vandenack scored her second career double-double with 12 points and 8 rebounds, and junior Paige Ravenscroft put up 11 points and 7 rebounds for the Prairie Wolves. The team is averaging 35.5 percent from the field and 24.1 percent from three-point range. At the charity stripe, Nebraska Wesleyan is 60.4 percent overall, with Vandenack at 83.8 percent on the season and 16-of-17 in their last two games.
