STORM LAKE, Iowa - BVU Madden squad had a solid night last night in National Association for Collegiate Esports (NACE) competition. Both
Nico Flores (4-0) and
Derien Beauregard (2-2) picked up 2-0 victories while
Kyle Miller received a forfeit as his opponent decided not to show up for play. Overall the team is 7-4 on the season.
Flores improved to 4-0 on the season picking up dominating victories over Akempen a player from Milwaukee School of Engineering. Flores played with the New Orleans Saints in both matches. He used solid defense in the first game to pick up the victory. Flores had a couple of interceptions which included a pick six cruising to the 34-15 victory. In game two Flores opened up the passing game opening up a big lead winning 49-32. Next week Flores will look to improve to 5-0 playing against Kota of Barton College. Kota is 2-1 on the season.
Beauregard also played well in a couple of closer games against DaddyO of Potomac State College of WVU. In the first game Deebo used solid defense to come away with a 21-13 victory. Deebo played with the Seattle Seahawks while his opponent played with the Green Bay Packers. In game two Beauregard put together a late drive in the fourth quarter to go ahead 17-14. His opponent responded moving the ball into field goal range but a sack and a batted ball on 4th an 35 sealed the victory for Beauregard in game two. Looks like Deebo will have a bye next week.
Kyle miller will continue play next week as he plays against Godz_Docholiday of Boise State University.
