STORM LAKE, Iowa - Things in the Esports room have picked up once again with plenty of teams opened up playoff action. On Monday, November 29 the Rainbow Six squad saw their season come to a close falling to Fanshawe Falcons 2-1 (5-7, 7-3, 7-3) in ECAC playoffs. Also on Monday three FIFA players saw their season end as
Jorge Pinon,
Ramon Garcia and
Gor Riak all fell in the opening round of their PlayVs tournament. On Tuesday, November 30 the Beavers went 2-2 in Madden action with
Chris Tovar and Lavell Harris advancing to the round of eight while Zack Huffman and
Cade Cunningham seasons came to an end in the first round of PlayVs playoffs. Rocket League Navy consisting of
Matthew Jewell,
Skyler Keller and
Dylan Laughlin advanced to the round of 64 with a 3-1 (2-3, 4-1, 2-1, 3-1) victory over Mount Saint Mary's (Md.).
Harris came in as the #3 seed in the PlayVs Madden tournament while Tovar comes in as the #8 seed. Harris cruised to the 2-0 (28-3, 31-0) victory over #14 seed Johnathan Lucas of Texax A&M San Antonio while Tovar fought back after losing the first game to win 2-1 (14-17, 21-3, 35-17) over 9# seed Austin Hetter of Barton College. Both players continue play tonight Thursday, December 2 as Tovar takes on the #1 seed Taylor Savoy of Minnesota State-Mankato. Harris will take on the #11 seed Chris Pagan of Nichols State trying to advance to the final four. The pair also made it into the ECAC playoffs. Harris received the #3 seed and got a bye into the second round while Tovar is #12 seed and will take on #21 seed Ethan Schuld of Carroll University.
Rocket League Navy battled back in their opening round playoff game against Mount St. Marys (Md.) to advance to the second round of ECAC playoffs. The Beavers will play the #13 seed Missouri Western State University on Saturday, December 4th at 11:30 am.
League of Legends also advanced into the Championship best of seven contest against Wayne State College in the Grey Division of ECAC competition. They play at 2 pm on Saturday, December 4.
