The Beavers tipped-off their season on Wednesday night with a hard fought 93-76 home loss at the hands of Central College. The Dutch outscored BVU by seven in the fourth quarter in what was just a 10-point contest heading into the final period. Sophomore transfer Olivia Larsen tallied a game-high 24 points in her Beaver debut, to go along with eight rebounds, four assists and three steals. Freshman Megan Morenz followed with 13 points, nine boards and three blocks. Erin Streit and Cassy Miller also reached double figures with 12 and 11 points, respectively. BVU shot 42 percent from the field and went 6-of-20 from long distance but couldn't quite overcome a 52.8 percent effort by the Dutch.
ABOUT THE KNIGHTS
Wartburg comes in with a perfect 6-0 record following a commanding 104-46 non-conference triumph over Iowa Wesleyan on Wednesday night. The team is averaging 81.0 points per contest and has allowed no more than 67 points in any game so far this season. A balanced scoring attack is led by Jaedon Murphy (12.4ppg) and Payton Draper (12.3ppg) The team has five players scoring at least 8.0ppg overall. Ally Conrad is hauling in a team-leading 6.3 rebounds per contest with Kaitlyn Volesky right behind at 6.2rpg. The Knights are shooting 44.2 percent overall from the field while holding opponents to 31.7. Opponents are also making less than 5.0 three-point buckets while Wartburg is forcing an average of nearly 22.0 turnovers per night.
