STORM LAKE, Iowa (December 10, 2020) – Buena Vista University head cross country/track & field coach, Colt Slack, has announced his resignation from the University to accept a track & field coaching position back in his native state of Indiana.
Slack, who recently completed his fifth season as BVU cross country coach, led the Beaver women this fall to their highest team finish (fifth) at the conference championships over the last 30 years. The team also had its first all-conference finisher since 2002. In four years leading the track & field programs, Slack has coached 13 indoor and 13 outdoor all-conference performances, multiple national qualifiers, and has seen his student-athletes break a total of 22 school records.
"I want to thank Colt for his time here at BVU. He has been instrumental in building our cross country and track & field programs and I wish him and his family the best in their future endeavors," says Jack Denholm, Director of Athletics.
A search for Slack's replacement will begin immediately.
