About North Park
The Vikings (2-0) hosted their tip-off tournament last weekend and notched a pair of convincing wins, including a 72-47 triumph over Coe College on November 16.  They turn around and host this weekend's NPU Thanksgiving Tournament.  NPU was 11-16 a year ago and qualified into their first CCIW tournament since 2006.  It looks to be led again this season by Jayla Johnson, the 2018-19 CCIW Newcomer of the Year and a Second Team All-Conference selection.  She is averaging 9.0ppg in the early going, including a 12-point effort against the Kohawks.  She's tied for the team-lead in rebounding at 3.5 per game.  Angelina Villasin is also turning in 9.0ppg.  As a team, the Vikings are shooting 48 percent from the field and holding opponents to under 25 percent.  They are also +17.0 in turnover margin and average 36.5 rebounds per game.

About Elmhurst
The Bluejays (1-2) got into the win column on Wednesday night with a 56-52 road victory at Saint Mary's College (Ind.).  It suffered double-digit losses to Loras and Aurora, respectively, to begin the year.  The team is averaging just shy of 60.0ppg and shooting 33 percent from the field.  It averages 7.7 made three-point buckets per outing, despite shooting less than 30 percent from long range overall.  Marissa Urso leads the team in scoring at 15.0ppg with Courtney O'Donnell right behind at 14.0ppg and 9.5rpg.  Anna Hill is also giving the team double-digits per contest (12.0ppg).  Only four players have appeared in all three games with nine making at least one start.  The Bluejays were 10-16 overall last season and did not have a player average double-digit scoring.

About Buena Vista
The Beavers look to keep momentum going after picking up their first win of the season, and as they prepare themselves for next week's American Rivers Conference opener.  The team is averaging 64.0ppg  and is shooting 34 percent overall.  Senior Destiny Einerwold (18.0ppg) and junior Erin Gerke (14.0ppg) have done a bulk of the scoring for the team in the early going with Erin Streit in the mix at 11.0ppg.  The trio are each grabbing at least 5.0 rebounds per game with Gerke dishing out a team-leading 11 assists.  Einerwold has already been to the free-throw line 28 times and shooting 89 percent.  She's been to the line nearly twice as much as the next closest (Gerke with 16).  As a team, the Beavers are taking advantage of the trips to the charity stripe, shooting 78.6 percent.  The team has struggled a bit to take care of the ball at times with 69 turnovers and are -24 in turnover margin.

Up Next:  Following this weekend's tournament, the Beavers tip-off American Rivers Conference play on Tuesday, November 26, hosting Coe College at 5:30 p.m. inside of Siebens Fieldhouse.  It will then take part in the Simpson College Thanksgiving Tournament next Friday and Saturday in Indianola, Iowa.
