Box Score Claudia Larsen turned in 14 points and Jasmine Demers added 12, but it wasn't quite enough in the end, as top-seed and ninth-ranked Wartburg College would outscore BVU 22-11 in the fourth quarter en route to an 82-67 victory over the Beavers.
Larsen was 6-of-10 from the field and was strong in the post all night at both ends. She also dished out a career-high five assists and added two more blocks to finish fourth on the program's single-season list with 45. Demers scored nine of her 12 in the first half and finished 4-of-13 from the floor. Jordan Tynes chipped in with nine points and five boards as Morgan Muhlbauer added seven points and nine rebounds.
Holly Schneider turned in eight points on 2-of-3 shooting from downtown while Sidney Beckman made just one trey and fell on make shy of tying Lexi Fisher (216) for second all-time in prorgram history.
BVU shot 45 percent from the field in the first half before cooling off a bit in the second and finished the game shooting 39.4 percent overall.
The Knights held a slim 22-19 lead after the first quarter before BVU played a strong second frame to take a 37-35 lead into the break. It was still a four-point game heading to the fourth before a key 7-1 run by Wartburg to start the quarter was too much for BVU to overcome.
Buena Vista closes its season at 14-13 overall, as the loss also ends the careers of six seniors: Nicole Snyder, Sidney Beckman, Jessica Jager, Liz Riessen, Jordan Tynes and Jessica Chiu.
