Box Score The Buena Vista men's soccer team was looking to even its Iowa Conference record on Saturday when it hosted visiting Wartburg College on Senior Day, but it was Wartburg that finally converted a pair of shots late in the match en route to a 2-0 victory.
Both teams were possessing the ball well over the course of the game, and each had multiple scoring opportunities that had just missed.
Wartburg (6-3-1, 1-1 IIAC) held just a slim 7-5 edge in total shots at the half before an 8-0 margin over the final 45 minutes.
Juan Rosales had two of BVU's five shots as Willy Salamanca had the one shot on-goal.
Senior Matt Tennyson, who was one of the seven BVU seniors honored in pregame ceremonies was solid once again in-goal, registering three saves and coming out to snag away several passing lanes.
Buena Vista, now 4-7-1 (0-2 IIAC), will remain at home to host Nebraska Wesleyan on Wednesday night, October 5 at 8:00pm.
