The Buena Vista men's soccer team could not find a way to slow down Wartburg College on Wednesday evening, as the Knights went on to hand the Beavers a 9-0 loss inside of J. Leslie Rollins Stadium.

The Knights built an early 1-0 lead just 1:59 into the contest and led 2-0 less than 10' in.  They then added a pair of goals just a minute apart midway through the opening half for a 4-0 lead before adding a late goal for a 5-0 halftime advantage.

BVU was held without a shot over the first 45 minutes and totaled only three in the contest.

Wartburg (9-4-1, 2-2-0 IIAC) added to the scoring with two more goals over the first six minutes of the second half and ended with two more goals just a minute apart over the final two minutes.

Jacob Heath finished with two of the Beavers' three shots on the night.

Jake Hutto and Matt Tennyson split time in-goal and combined for 17 saves.

Buena Vista is now 5-9 overall (0-4 IIAC) and will look to get into the win column when it takes the road this Saturday night for a 7:00pm Iowa Conference match at the University of Dubuque.
