WHAT MADE YOU CHOOSE BVU?
I chose Buena Vista University because of my art experience. I am not majoring in any sort of art degree, but am considered a creative and artistic person. Following my years in high school, I had an awesome art teacher alongside me, Wava Jarr. She came to our school when I was in 8th grade, and after school my friends and I would tag along in her room and wait for the bus there. When I reached high school, she was supportive, outgoing, and spunky! Mrs. Jarr made me love art.
Mrs. Jarr spoke to me about this art event at BVU and many students had submitted their art from different school, and she suggested I do the same. I did, and won Jurors Honorable Mention! I met some of the professors, students, and other staff. They were all super nice and gave really good advice.
Watching her come from this school and give such kind words about it inspired me to apply, and I'm grateful that I did. I owe everything to Mrs. Jarr.
WHAT DO YOU LIKE MOST ABOUT YOUR SPORT?
I love my sport, rather than like. I met my closest friends through it and got closer with who I was as a person. I got out of my shell, became outgoing and more confident with myself. It made me realize that I don't have to be afraid to be loud or "too much." Entering a sport or a club, or any extra-curricular is a must! You find what you like and who you are, and who the people around you are. It's a humbling experience, but such a positive one too!
BEST SNACK FOR TEAM TRAVEL ROAD TRIPS?
As someone who needs energy and a filling snack from travels to keep me pumped and going, is protein and electrolytes! I find protein is a staple to keeping me awake and motivated.
