Biography

About Cheyanne:  Is the daughter of Barry and Teri...has two brothers, Kegan and Clay, as well as two sisters, Jerami and Autumn...her brother Clay played football at Iowa Central CC.

High School Highlights:  Was a five-time letterwinner for the Warriors in softball where she was a Second Team All-Cornbelt Conference selection her first three seasons and a First Team selection as a junior and senior.  She earned All-Area honors by both the Upper Des Moines and the Fairmont Sentinel paper all five years and was a First Team All-District and All-State honoree as a junior.

In addition to softball, Cheyanne was a four-time letter in volleyball and was a First Team All-Area and All-Conference selection as a sophomore, junior and senior.  She also played in the Senior All-Star Game.  In basketball, she earned three letters and was a First Team All-Conference performer her senior year.

Aside from athletics, she was listed on the ''A'' Honor Roll all four years and was a member of the National Honor Society.

College Highlights:

2017: Started all 37 games at catcher...Hit .245 on the year...Led the team with 10 doubles...Tied for third on the team with 20 RBI...Had seven multi-hit games...Had a pair of doubles in the season-opener at Westminster on March 10...Had two doubles and three RBI against Elmhurst on March 18...Recorded two hits and drove in three runs in the regular season finale against Wartburg on April 29...Named Academic All-Iowa Conference.

2016:She started all 36 games this season. She would lead the team in batting average (.389), runs scored (27), second on the team in slugging percentage (.574), and second in RBI’s (23). Against Northwestern on March 16th she would go 3-4 with 5 RBI’s, 2 runs scored, and a home run. She was named 1st team all conference and 3rd team all region.

2015: Played in all 39 games and made 38 starts for the Beavers as the team''s starting catcher.  She hit .281 for the year which ranked fifth on the team.  She tallied five doubles and ranked fourth with 19 RBI.  Her career-high five home runs were second-most on the team, while she topped the team in sacrifice hits with seven.  Defensively, she had only three errors in over 215 total chances, while throwing out nine of 28 attempted base stealers.  In game one of a doubleheader against Wartburg College on April 20, she went 2-for-4 with a home run, two RBI and two runs scored.  For the year, she tallied six multi-hit games.

2014: She played in 30 games as a freshman and turned in a solid first season.  At the plate, she finished with 18 hits in 72 at-bats and was fourth on the team in runs (14).  Defensively, she ranked third on the team in putouts (75) while throwing out seven of 18 attempted base stealers.  She threw out a pair of runners in a win against Central on April 9.  At the plate in that game, she went 2-for-3 with a double, RBI and two runs scored.  The win for BVU snapped the team''s 20-game losing streak to the Dutch.
