About Derek: Derek is the son of Ross and Lisa Hunwardsen and brother of Brooke.

High School Highlights: Derek participated in soccer, basketball, and track. He was awarded Academic Exellence six years and Big South Academic All-Conference. Derek was captain of his soccer team for two years and captain of his basketball team one year. He was awarded MVP in soccer 2014. Derek was awarded the Cardinal Award for basketball in 2015. He was a letter winner in soccer (3 years), basketball (2 years), track (1 year) and band (4 years).
