STORM LAKE, Iowa - Buena Vista Smash teams opened up NECC play with a bang with all three teams competing picking up victories. Each team sits at 1-0 after week on of competition. The night was highlighted by
Isaac Hatchitt taking all 12 stocks in the first game against South Dakota School of Mines JV squad.
BVU Gold opened up the night with a 2-0 victory over Concordia University Chicago. The team won the first round 12-4 before finishing them off in the second 12-2. BVU Blue was next up and unfortunately the Beavers opponent Loyola University Marymount did not show up so they go the victory.
BVU Navy wrapped up the night with a 12-1, 12-7 victory over the Hardrockers. Hatchitt opened up play on fire. Playing with Wii Fit Trainer, Hatchitt was on fire taking all 12 stocks while losing just one. In game two the team played
Simon Cooper,
Ethan Tompkins and
Alex Galati. Cooper took four stocks while losing three, Tompkins went even 3-3 while Galati took five stocks and losing one.
Tonight the Beavers Rainbow Six team and Rocket League Navy opened up NECC competition at 8 pm. R6 takes on Alpena Community College while Rocket League takes on Bellevue University JV. Mario Kart Gold opens the night againt Ashland University at 6:30 pm. All matches can be seen on twitch or YouTube.
