MONMOUTH, Ill. (Sept. 13, 2025) - The Buena Vista men's soccer team was on the road Saturday for the first time since the season opener as it played at Monmouth College. It was an even attack on both ends of the field by each team, but the Scots came out with a 3-0 victory.
It was back-and-forth from the start with Monmouth accounting for six shots in the opening half while the Beavers had four of their own. The Scots broke the scoreless match midway through the half with a goal during the 27' en route to a 1-0 halftime lead.
Monmouth (2-2-1) broke the game open with a pair of goals only a minute apart during the first 10 minutes of the second half. The team only had two more shots the remainder of the match. BVU had eight shots in the second half but only two of which were on-goal. The Beavers finished with a match-high 12 total shots with four on-goal.

Kendall Bickford and freshman
Andres Gonzalez both tallied two shots (one on-goal) to help lead the way for BVU. Dominic Kamrath and
Vincent Dempsey each added the other two shots-on-goal.
Zachary Sigler got the start in-goal and played 81 minutes before giving way to
Cody Fuller. Sigler was charged with allowing all three goals despite making six saves.
Buena Vista is now 2-3 on the year and returns home to host Northwestern-St. Paul on Tuesday, Sept. 16 at 5 p.m.
