Mario Kart Opens Spring Competition with two victories

STORM LAKE, Iowa - The Beavers Mario Kart team picked up where they left in the fall with two victories to open Collegiate Karting League Division 6 competition. They beat Texas A&M University 593-391 in game one and then beat Coe College 542-442. 

In match one against Texas A&M, the Beavers dominated from start to finish. They had three of the top four overall scores with Amber Lawthers leading all racers with 135 points. Micro from the Aggies had 122 but then Parker Currie and Matthew Forristal had 113 and 107 points respectively. Teen had 100 points for the Aggies before Rhyann Rojas, Gregory Stueven and Joseph Groetken rounded out the Beavers scoring with 86, 80 and 72 points. BVU won the match 593-391. 

In game two against Coe College the Beavers lead most of the way but by a narrow margin. Lawthers and Currie led all racers with 124 points. Rojas and Dawn from Coe had 99 points. John and Max nad 92 and 79 for Coe while Forristal and Stueven had 76 and 69. Grotken had 50 total points The Beavers placed two tied for first, tied for third, seventh, eighth and eleventh. Coe placed tied for third, fifth, sixth, ninth, tenth and twelfth. 

Next week the Beavers take on Auburn University and New Mexico State University at 7 pm and 8 pm respectively.
