Rainbow Six opens up MWR6 play 2-0

Beat Nebraska 2-0 (8-6, 7-4) in Week 2

STORM LAKE, Iowa - The Buena Vista University Rainbow Six team has started this semester on a roll. After not winning a match last semester in Midwest Rainbow Six play they have opened up this semester winning their first two matches. The Beavers opened up Division 4 play with a 2-0 victory over Saint Johns (Minnesota) before claiming the 2-0 (8-6, 7-4) victory over the University of Nebraska on Tuesday evening.

The two teams began their night playing on Border. The Beavers and the Huskers played the first map extremely close. The Huskers claimed a 6-5 lead before technology came into play. It might have came at the perfect time as the Beavers re hosted the match and up winning the next three round claiming the 8-6 victory. Dawson Spiker led the charge for BVU with 19 eliminations while Jesus Silva and Dylan Anderson claiming 12 apiece.

Map two was played on Kafe Dostoyevsky. BVU started on defense and played well throughout. BVU pulled away late claiming the 7-4 victory. Spiker led the way again with 11 eliminations while Silva finished with nine.

Most of the team will be heading to Boston this weekend to attend The Six Invitational which is the professional Rainbow Six tournament. Before they do they will look to go 2-0 in NECC play tonight with a 7:30 pm match against West Virginia Tech. Next week the team will take on Grand Valley State Blue in Midwest R6 play.
