STORM LAKE, Iowa - The Buena Vista Beavers opened up NECC playoff with three victories on Tuesday, November 11th. Smash Gold, Smash Navy and Rocket League Navy all picked up victories. 

For the first time in school history the Beavers have a Smash team qualify and win a playoff match in NECC play. Smash Navy opened up the night with a very competitive match against 5th seed University of Texas-El Paso in Division V West-Central quarterfinals. The first set belonged to the Beavers winning 12-10. In the second match UTEP won 12-11 before the Beavers closed it out with a 12-10 victory. The Beavers will play next Tuesday, November 18 against #1 seed Sonoma State or the 8th seed South Dakota School of Mines. 

Smash Gold took care of business in Division V East Quarterfinals against 5th seed Marywood University. The Beavers won 2-0 (12-5, 12-5). Will play #1 seed Edinboro University next Tuesday in the semifinals.

Rocket League Navy came in as the 7th seed in Division IX playoffs and took on #2 seed Vanderbilt University JV. The Beavers took the series 4-0. They will play the winner of #3 Montana Griz Silver and #6 Post Eagles next Wednesday, November 18th.
