STORM LAKE, Iowa - The BVU Esports team had a solid performance last night with two teams picking up playoff victories and one finishing regular season undefeated.
League of Legends came out on top against College of Eastern Idaho in the quarterfinals of NECC Division VIII West playoffs. The Beavers at the #6 seed and the only lower seed to advance out of the round of 8. The Beavers will take on #2 Carthage on November 19 at 7 pm. Carthage beat Concordia-Nebraska 2-0 to advance. The Beavers fell to Carthage in the regular season 2-0.
Valorant advanced to the quarterfinals of ECAC Division G playoffs with a 2-0 (13-3, 13-11) victory over University of Montana. They will play Mississippi or West Virginia Potomac State next Tuesday, November 19 at 7 pm. Ole Miss is the #3 seed while Potomac State is 14th seed.
Angel Lopez led the way on the first map with 20 eliminations while
Will Roland had 16. Libby Franken and Cameron Germian had 15 and 14 respectively. The Beavers battled in map two coming back from a deficit to pick up the 13-11 victory.
Rocket League finished off Midwest Valley Esports Conference play with a big win against Central College. The Beavers swept the Dutch 4-0 (3-0, 3-1, 5-1, 4-2) and wrapped up regular season play 6-0 and will be the #1 seed in next springs playoffs. They automatically qualified for the LAN at Simpson in the beginning of April.
